Houston, TX — Spitzer Industries has expanded its structural fabrication capacity with the installation of a Lincoln Electric PythonX structural cutting system and the lease of an additional four acres at its Houston waterfront facility.
The combined investment strengthens Spitzer’s ability to support growing demand across energy, utility, and industrial infrastructure markets by increasing throughput, expanding fabrication capabilities, and improving production flow.
The PythonX system integrates robotic plasma cutting, coping, and marking into a single automated workstation. The technology reduces manual cutting and cleanup associated with traditional oxy-acetylene and band saw processes while maintaining Spitzer’s established quality standards.
With this implementation, Spitzer will:
- Reduce cleanup hours by approximately 80%
- Reduce cutting time by approximately 45%
- Free 7,000–11,000 labor hours annually
- Improve dimensional repeatability and hole placement accuracy
- Increase production density within existing facility space
In parallel with the equipment investment, Spitzer leased and stabilized an additional four acres of waterfront property, preparing the site for expanded operational use and future growth. The additional acreage enhances staging flexibility and supports larger structural and modular scopes as project demand continues to scale.
“This is about strengthening our foundation for the next phase of growth,” said Ray Murphy, Vice President of Operations at Spitzer. “The PythonX allows us to reduce manual prep work and increase consistency in structural fabrication, while the additional waterfront acreage gives us more flexibility as project sizes continue to grow. Together, these investments improve efficiency and position us to support larger, more complex scopes moving forward.”
The system also reduces manual handling and integrates directly into Spitzer’s barcode tracking and multi-point inspection processes, reinforcing safety, traceability, and execution certainty.
As infrastructure investment continues across utility substations, data centers, and industrial expansion projects, Spitzer remains focused on practical capital investments that increase capacity, competitiveness, and long-term operational strength.
