Sr. Maintenance Technician – Marion, OH

The Sr. Maintenance Technician is a hands-on technical leader responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the reliability of all production equipment associated with a Hot Dip Galvanizing Facility. This role serves as a technical expert supporting electrical systems, mechanical systems, plumbing, boilers and overall building operations.

This position also plays a critical role in ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations while supporting continuous improvement, mentoring less experienced technicians and supporting leadership in the maintenance department.

Duties Include:

• Advanced Diagnostics: Troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical plant equipment, consisting of overhead cranes/hoists, motors, gearboxes, forklifts, pumps and air compressors.
• Welding: Fabricate/repair fixtures, baskets and racks used in the handling and conveyance of product through the galvanizing process.
• Loading / unloading and operating an MZR (Zinc recovery) machine.
• Maintaining filter press process, which includes cleaning the filter screens when required and understanding/operating the controls.
• Operate forklifts, aerial lifts, Skid Steers & telehandlers as needed.
• Provide supervision and leadership to other maintenance technician’s and act as Assistant Supervisor as needed.

Qualifications:

• Welding knowledge – Certificate not required but should have 2-5 years of welding experience.
• Good mechanical aptitude
• Excellent electrical troubleshooting skills (on O/H hoists is a plus)
• Be self-motivated and able to work on your own.
• Ability to operate arial lifts and work at heights of approx. 25.’
• 3 to 5 years of industrial maintenance related experience
• High regard for personal and operator safety
