Production Assistant-Hutto

Hourly Rate: $18.00-$20.00 per hour 

SUMMARY: 

We are looking for a person with a strong attention to detail, desire to learn, and the ability to provide a high level of customer service. 

SPECIFICATIONS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate a stub welder 
• Reading shop drawings and accurately laying out dimensions 
• Cutting structural steel with a bandsaw 
• Operating an ironworker punching holds and shearing steel 
• Operating a magnetic drill and drill press 
• Operating a forklift 
• Strapping and banding material 
• Keeping area clean 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION(S):

• Ability to work outside and in a non-air-conditioned shop 
• Ability to read a tape measurer 
• Ability to perform simple calculations 
• Ability to payout dimensions on steel 
• Lift and move heavy objects, sometimes in excess of 50 pounds 
• Ability to safely operate a forklift 
• Ability to operate industrial machinery (bandsaw, ironworker, drill) 
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment 
• Self-motivated 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• Successful candidate must submit to post offer, pre-employment physical examination/medical history check.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio-hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and loud noises.
• Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; lifting, pushing or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds.
• Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and includes the use of protective equipment.
