Starting Pay: $20 per hour
Job Summary
Machine Operator Leadman reports to production supervisor in detail area. The leadman is responsible for directing and supervising the work and assuring that workers are provided sufficient instruction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all plant safety regulations and considers safety first in all job actions.
- Support the Departments daily and weekly production schedule given by supervisor.
- Responsible for verifying satisfactory completion of manufacturing operations performed in their area of responsibility and the quality of work performed under their supervision.
- Maintain timekeeping and vacation records.
- Address problems with work quality, issues between employees and other concerns in an effective, timely manner.
- Ensure employees adhere to company policies and legal regulations
- Follow company quality policy.
- Train or ensure that workers are properly trained for their specific roles.
Minimum Job requirements:
- Ability to communicate and comply with plant safety regulations.
- Read and interpret shop orders, including drawings, routings and set-ups.
- Ability to read measuring tools and have basic math skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multi-task and be flexible in job roles.
- Ability to deliver sustainable and superior results.
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers and management regarding equipment status, safety issues, and turnover information.
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required:
- Minimum 6 months to 1 year machine operation experience.
- Requires lifting of boxes and materials up to 50 pounds, must therefore be physically fit and able to perform physical work.
Conditions of Employment:
- Successful candidate must submit to post offer, pre-employment physical examination/medical history check.
- MUST be flexible with ALL shifts and overtime if needed.
Working Conditions
- Work involves moderate to heavy exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
- Moderate to heavy physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (6) hours per day.
- Work environment involves exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require strict understanding and adherence to safety precautions.
