1978

Connecticut Galvanizing

Opened for Business In 1978

Customers throughout the Northeast have relied upon the services of Connecticut Galvanizing, a family-owned business with a reputation for excellence in providing hot dip galvanizing.

1980

Highway Safety & Design Company

Acquired In 1980

The existing business (formerly called Highway Safety & Design Company) which became Highway Safety Corp and Connecticut Galvanizing (Glastonbury CT location) was purchased by Patric Gregory in 1980

1995

Ohio Galvanizing

Opened For Business In 1995

Built in 1994 and opened for business in 1995 – Ohio Galvanizing Corp. was founded by W. Patric Gregory through a handshake deal with James Conway, the owner of Marion Steel Company (today known as Nucor Steel Marion). The agreement was simple, Ohio Galvanizing promised they would hot dip galvanized sign posts manufactured by Marion Steel and this relationship continues today.

1995

Ohio Galvanizing

Expanded Its Customer Base in 1995

Since the agreement with Marion Steel, Ohio Galvanizing has expanded its customer base to include hot dip galvanizing Highway products, structural products, walkways, stairways, handrails, towers and commercial vehicle components, primarily servicing businesses in Ohio, Indiana Pennsylvania and as far away as Wisconsin.

1999

Highway Safety Corp Fabrication

Built its 3rd Fabrication Building in 1999

By 1999, the 3rd fabrication building with office space had been completed.

2000

Highway Safety

Achieved AISC certification in 2000

In 2000 (Glastonbury CT) Highway Safety first achieved AISC certification (American Institute of Steel Construction) which allowed for expansion into other products such as bridge railings and simple structures.

2001

Structural & Steel Products

First Day of Operation on 9-11-2001

The manufacturing portion of SSPI (Structural and Steel Products Manufacturing LTD) started its first day of operation on 9-11-2001. SSPM has certification in both AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) and the AAR American Association of Railroads. The distribution business started around 1969.

2007

Highway Safety

Upgraded Guardrail Beam Capability In 2007

(Glastonbury, CT), Highway Safety upgraded guardrail beam capability with the addition of a roll former machine.

Race Rock GP

Created in 2007

Race Rock GP LLC was created in 2007.

2009

Highway Safety

Expanded Into Solar in 2009

Expansion into the solar post market, beginning in 2009, has been one of the most transformative changes the company has experienced.

Race Rock Group Officially Starts

Race Rock GP LLC, doing business as Race Rock Group, officially started in August 2019 as a “family office.”
