As demand for grid modernization and renewable energy infrastructure continues to accelerate, Race Rock recently supported America’s largest renewable energy transmission project by delivering ninety-three (93) engineered 525kV transmission structures totaling approximately 3,000 tons of fabricated steel.
Project Highlights
- 93 engineered 525kV transmission structures
- Approximately 3,000 tons of fabricated steel
- 83 tangent structures and 10 dead-end structures
- Large-diameter tubular steel poles and heavy-wall formed components
- Weathering steel construction with integrated quality inspection and logistics support
Engineering & Manufacturing at Scale
Several of the structures represented some of the largest ever produced by Race Rock:
- 130″+ diameter pole sections
- 80,000+ pound base sections
- Full structure weights exceeding 180,000 pounds
- Approximately 95% of the project fabricated within a concentrated three-month period
Execution Matters
Through integrated engineering, project management, manufacturing, quality assurance, and logistics, Race Rock achieved:
- 100% shipment completion
- Zero schedule issues
- Zero quality issues
- Successful support of critical transmission infrastructure connecting renewable energy resources to the grid
Projects like these demonstrate Race Rock’s ability to execute complex utility programs with the quality and reliability customers depend on — Perfect Fit. On Time. Every Time.
