Senior Project Planner – Full Time – Fort Worth, TX

JOB SUMMARY: 

Lead project planning activities and mentor planners in the preparation of release packages, material assignment, and nesting. Ensure alignment of planning operations with production, purchasing, and quality requirements while driving efficiency and accuracy across the team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Lead review of complex BOMs, drawings, and customer requirements for high-value projects.

2. Oversee preparation and release of cut tickets, CNC programs, and nesting packages.

3. Validate material assignments and ensure compliance with customer specifications and contract requirements.

4. Train, mentor, and review the work of Junior and Project Planners.

5. Coordinate closely with Purchasing, Drafting, Production, and Quality teams to resolve issues.

6. Monitor workload, prioritize projects, and support production schedules.

7. Identify and implement improvements in ERP, nesting, and planning processes.

8. Provide status reporting and technical support to management and customers.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• 5+ years of experience in project planning, steel fabrication, or equivalent manufacturing role.

• Advanced proficiency in CNC programming, nesting, and ERP systems (Syspro/SigmaNest).

• Demonstrated leadership or team supervision experience.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines with minimal oversight.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• Successful candidate must submit to post offer, pre-employment physical examination/medical history check. 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

• While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit and use a computer. Very limited physical effort required. 

• Must be able to access the yard/plant as needed.
