Hourly Rate: $17/per hour
Job Summary
Assembles metal products on shop floor by performing the following duties.
Job Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled or following blueprints.
- Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets or other fasteners.
- Removes small quantities of metal with hand files and scrapers to product close fit between parts.
- Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow safety regulations.
- Operate a forklift.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required:
- Maintain quality, safety, and control standards.
- Sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
- Receive, track, and distribute materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic.
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
- Ability to understand basic verbal and written instructions in English; ability to read and write basic English.
Conditions of Employment:
- Successful candidate must submit to post offer, pre-employment physical examination/medical history check.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
- Work involves moderate to heavy exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
- Moderate to heavy physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds.
- Work environment involves exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require strict understanding and adherence to safety precautions.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and climb or balance.
