JOB SUMMARY:
Structural and Steel Products is looking for an experience Structural Design Engineer to join our Utility Division. As a Structural Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing engineering Proposals and reviewing the final engineered design for utility steel pole manufacturing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Candidate will be responsible for the design of steel poles transmission structures up to 345KV, including monopoles, h-frames, and 3-pole structures
- Candidate will be responsible for the accuracy, quality and timely completion of engineering proposals and jobs
- Prepare calculations and drawing submittals
- Candidate will be responsible for preparing engineering design package
- Candidate will be responsible for marking up and submitting drawings to Drafting.
- Candidate will be responsible for verifying Engineering Proposal meets project requirements.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required
- Registered Engineer-In-Training or Engineer Intern
- 3 years minimum experience in structural design and analysis of utility structures
- Candidate will be responsible to communicate with internal stakeholders including Drafting, Manufacturing, Sales, and Marketing teams
- Communicating and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders.
MINIUMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in steel pole structural design
- Proficient in structural design applications such as PLS-Pole and Microsoft Excel
- Experience in detailing utility steel pole structural components
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Conduct a pre-employment physical examination/medical history check
- A valid Texas driver’s license is a required for this job.
