DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use PLS-Pole, RISA-3D, and RISAConnection to perform structural design and analysis of and develop accurate and competitive engineering proposals for tapered tubular steel utility structures up to 500 kV, including monopoles, h frames, and multi-bay structures.
- Lead project team during engineering design phase for key alliance customers.
- Oversee the development of calculations and drawing submittals.
- Stamp and seal final engineering calculations and drawings.
- Leverage structural design engineering experience to peer-review work.
- Continuously improve engineering design methodologies, standard drawings, and best practices to design primary steel components and welded and bolted connections for tapered tubular steel utility structures.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or a related field.
- 4 years of experience with structural design and analysis of tapered tubular steel utility structures.
- Professional engineer license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Experience with PLS-Pole.
- Experience with RISA-3D and RISAConnection or similar structural design applications.
- Experience detailing welded and bolted connections for tapered tubular steel utility structures.
- Approximately 10% domestic and international travel.
