Safety Training Specialist – 1st Shift- Full Time – Fort Worth

JOB SUMMARY:

The Safety Training Specialist plays a key role in ensuring that all employees in the organization adhere to the safety standards and regulations. Supports the Director of Safety by developing, delivering, and coordinating safety training programs for employees.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.

  1. Assess the company’s safety training needs and develop appropriate training programs.
  2. Conduct safety training sessions for all employees.
  3. Monitor compliance with safety procedures and regulations.
  4. Create educational materials and resources to support safety training initiatives.
  5. Stay up to date on new regulations and standards in health and safety.
  6. Ensure the organization meets all legal expectations and standards for safety.
  7. Perform regular inspections and risk assessments based on training criteria.
  8. Assist with coordinating emergency procedures and evacuations.
  9. Respond to employees’ safety concerns and incidents, providing necessary support and guidance.
  10. Participate in employee EHS on-boarding program to include new hire mentoring assignments.
  11. Participate in project ongoing EHS training program (with training matrix).
  12. Participate in Project Weekly Safety Meetings and frequently attend daily safety meetings (Toolbox Talks).
  13. Promote Stop Work Authority to ensure workplace safety with employees.
  14. Periodically participate in tool and equipment inspections.
  15. Flexibility and willingness to work 1st, 2nd, or split shifts.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate degree in Occupational Safety and Health or relevant EHS experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction, industrial, or similar EHS environments.
  • Certifications: Basic safety training certifications (e.g., OSHA 10/30, MSHA, or equivalent) preferred; advanced certifications such as CHST or STSC are a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Understanding of federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
  • Ability to identify hazards, assess risk, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ability to assist in the development and delivery of EHS procedures, work practices, and training programs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to build positive relationships and work effectively with diverse teams
  • Bilingual is a plus but not required.
  • Willing and able to gain additional training and certifications if required.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Successful candidate must submit to post offer, pre-employment physical examination/medical history check.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

  • Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio-hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and loud noises.
  • Considerable physical activity. Requires lifting, pushing or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and includes the use of protective equipment.
