![]() Geoff Bodine Geoff Bodine began racing and winning in 1955 at age five in the micro midgets class at Chemung Speedrome, NY. Since that time, Bodine has continued to make a huge impact on the sport of racing.
Bodine, who began racing in NASCAR's Winston Cup Series in 1979, holds the sixth place position in total Winston Cup victories among all active drivers. His career honors include 1982 NASCAR Winston Cup Rookie of the Year, 1986 Daytona 500 Winner, 1987 BUSCH Clash Winner, 1987 IROC Champion, 1992 Busch Clash Winner, 1994 Busch Pole Award Winner and 1994 Winston Select Champion. Some of his other contributions as a driver include the introduction of power steering and full-faced helmets into NASCAR Winston Cup Racing. Bodine also currently holds the Guinness Book of World Record's "Most wins in one season" with fifty-five modified races. As partner and driver of Mattei Motorsports, Geoff has taken his team to victory many times over. He is ninth all-time in money winnings with Winston Cup with 18 career victories and plans on increasing that title with a full 1998 NASCAR/Winston Cup Series schedule.
